I grew up on a farm East of Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada, the eldest of three children. My parents owned a grain and dairy farm and my intended purpose was to continue that legacy. Until Grade 5, I attended a one room school house and in 1966 was bused to a larger consolidated school in Dugald, Manitoba. As a shy quiet girl, I found solace in books where my inquiring mind could travel on adventures, absorb knowledge, and nourish my loving soul.
I worked as a waitress and Manitoba travel agent during the summers I attended University. After receiving my BA and Teacher Certification at the University of Manitoba, I became an Elementary school teacher in rural Manitoba and urban Calgary, Alberta. I strove to be a beloved teacher to all my students. Throughout my life I have always loved animals and discovered early on that they possess great spiritual wisdom and have a lot of love to share. Throughout my teaching career, one of my routine goals was to teach the kids to treat all living creatures with love and respect.
Today I live in Calgary, Alberta with my 14 year old Yorkshire Terrier Candy, near the Majestic Rocky Mountains where I go to rejuvenate my spirit. My daughter also lives close to me and we have a wonderful relationship. Presently, I am working on marketing my book Weigh the Wind, and writing a Children's book of poetry and short stories that I have written over my lifetime.
